LAAPA Speaker Series
and
SCCAP

Knowledge.  Wisdom.  Facts.  Fun.
The LAAPA Speaker Series provides an open forum for the exchange of ideas, opinions, and perspectives. Each season’s speakers represent a variety of subjects including Panhellenic updates, women's issues, charitable organization management, and many  others.  Our Speaker Series is open to the entire Panhellenic community.
The Speaker Series is currently on hiatus. Please see a sample below of a past speaker.

Southern California Council of Alumnae Panhellenics - www.sccap.info
Twice a year this group meets to discuss what is going on with today's college student.  Each Fall recruitment trends and results in the Greek community are covered with information from schools throughout California.  Each Spring topics to aid our advisors and collegiate members navigate changing times.  An example of
a past speaker, in Spring 2015 Opal Singleton Training & Outreach Coordinator, Riverside Human Trafficking Task Force spoke to us on the new 'commodity' - women.  In January 2016, a major sting in the Greater Los Angeles area proved her cautionary words had impact close to home.
Closer than any of us would like to think it could be.

Fiduciary Responsibility for Non-Profits

Our speaker is M'Leigh Koziol, Vice President of Investments at Wedbush Securities Inc.  M'Leigh has been an investment advisor since 1981.  A native Angeleno, she graduated from Marlborough School and Pitzer College, one of the Claremont Colleges.  M'Leigh has been involved in charitable work since childhood.  She is a former Ticktocker and a Coronet (National Charity League - NCL)  M'Leigh has been involved with the Junior League of Los Angeles since 1988, serving in a variety of offices.  Her Board Positions have been Director of Training, Director of Development, Treasurer, President Elect and President.  Because of her understanding of the dual nature of the operational and philanthropic 'sides of the house' M'Leigh has been the go to advisor for Junior League treasurers for the past ten years.  To her credit, she has always been that resource no matter what, often assisting from vacation or her second home in Iowa.  She is a past advisor to Military Women in Need (MWin) and has supported Angel's Flight.

Whether you are involved with a long term non-profit or a fledgling one, the nature of Non-Profit Fiduciary responsibility is the same - the well being of the organization first and foremost.

Come and find out why your Bylaws are your best friends!!!  Come get answers to your questions or direction for your plans.

LAAPA delegates are encouraged to share this event with their sorority sisters to attend.  If you are involved with your PTA, Girl Scouts, fraternal Foundation or your own special cause, come learn best practices.
